………and should he be allowed to play?…………ask the other ‘bad boy’ of golf, John Daly, what he thinks as he is trying to earn his way back to respectability on the course. Doesn’t Tiger’s bad behaviour warrant the same kind of discipline by the PGA or am i missing something?

I agree that allowing Tiger to play in the Masters is a big mistake for the PGA. It will be a huge distraction this soon after all that has come out about Tiger. But it is way more than that for me.

What Tiger did and what it represents does not deserve the kind of attention it will get by him playing and it also sends the wrong message to kids. Tiger ought to know this and do the right thing and NOT play for a much longer time. Furthermore, the PGA should also know better and simply NOT allow him to play this soon either. Both have lost my respect because of this ‘greedy’ and very selfish move.

This whole mess should be about principle, and doing what is right and good. It appears many in our professional sports ranks and sports in general have forgotten this and have ‘sold out’ to much much less in the ‘bigger picture’ of life.

Anyway, tt makes me NOT want to watch the coverage just knowing he will be out there. I will have to just ‘sit this one out’. In fact, I’ll probably just boycott professional golf for a while cuz’ it just makes me sick. Unbelievable.

Yes you are. John Daly has been suspended FIVE times and cited numerous other times by the PGA for “failure to give his best efforts” ON THE COURSE. That’s the difference. Tiger problems were created OUTSIDE of the course. Tiger has never tanked or not given his all in competition. HUGE difference.”

Excellent point! Guess I had not thought it through enough along those lines. One is on the course and the other is off and that is indeed a huge difference. Thanks for pointing that out.

This is all ‘technically’ speaking, however. Non-technically speaking, I still abhor what all of this represents. Both Tiger and the PGA have lost mucho credibility in my book. It just stinks.
